Viral Proteins

ABI’s Purified Native Proteins are whole viral antigens, immunoaffinity purified from clarified infected cell extracts. Recombinant Proteins by ABI are specific viral antigens cloned and produced in protein expression systems.

ABI produces purified native proteins from virus-infected cell culture, conditioned media inactivated by Triton X-100™, and then purified by immunoaffinity chromatography or reverse phase HPLC to >95% purity.

Purified recombinant proteins produced by ABI originate from cloned viral genes produced in Baculovirus, Yeast (Pichia pastoris) and E. coli expression systems and purified by immunoaffinity, ion-exchange, gel exclusion chromatography, and/or reverse phase HPLC to >95% purity.

ABI's Native and Recombinant Viral Proteins Are Purified by One or More of the Following Methods

  • Immunoaffinity chromatography
  • Ion-exchange chromatography
  • Gel exclusion chromatography
  • Reverse phase HPLC

ABI's Native and Recombinant Viral Proteins Are Evaluated by One or More of the Following Methods

  • Protein concentration by BCA Assay Method
  • Purity by SDS-PAGE
  • Specificity by Western blot
  • Sensitivity/Specificity by ELISA
