Advanced Biotechnologies Inc Releases Dengue-1 Purified Viral Lysate to Diagnose Infections; Useful Tool to Combat Epidemics
ABI’s Dengue-1 Purified Viral Lysate allows investigators to detect primary and secondary infections of Dengue-1 by immunoassays. Epidemics of Dengue fever spread across the world while vaccines are still under development.
Columbia, Maryland - October 14, 2009 - Advanced Biotechnologies Inc (ABI) has released Dengue-1 Purified Viral Lysate for use in detecting primary and secondary infections of Dengue virus by ELISA and dot blot immunoassays of human plasma/serum.
Dengue fever epidemics have been reported in tropical and subtropical regions of the world, but is also spreading to a greater territory. Dengue fever has been reported in over 100 countries, including the United States, where it has been found in Texas and Hawaii. Clinical trials for vaccines against Dengue fever are still ongoing.
Dengue-1 purified virus (prior to lysis) was identified by visualization under Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), hemagglutination assay (HA), and immunofluorescence assay (IFA). The product was tested by ELISA with Dengue IgG positive and negative human plasma.
